Jane Elizabeth Freeth was the ninth child of John Freeth & Sarah Ann Felton born October 2nd, 1875 & christened October 22nd, 1875 at Christ Church, West Bromwich, Staffs.
In 1881 Jane & her 4 sisters & 5 brothers & parents were living at 15 Watton St, West Bromwich.
By the time of the 1891 census the family had moved to 26 Watton St, West Bromwich. Later that year Jane’s mother died.
Jane married George Roberts on April 14th, 1900 at Walthamstow, Essex. George was born July-September 1877 at Witchford, Cambridgeshire, the son of Elizabeth Wilkin & Ebenezer Roberts, a carpenter.
In 1901 Jane & George were living at 10 Cromwell Rd, Walthamstow, Essex. George was a joiner like his father.
By 1911 Jane & George had moved to 255 Brighton Rd, South Croydon, Surrey & George was described as a carpenter. They had a 5 year old daughter, Doris Violet, who was born in Croydon. They had 3 lodgers in their 4-roomed house.
Jane Elizabeth, a widow, died at 97 Alum Rock Road, Saltley, Ham, Birmingham on March 10th 1925. Administration of her estate was granted to her sister, Ann Maria Freeth, spinster.
Daughter Doris Violet married Frank Ivor Hale, a dairyman, in 1928 in Cinderford, Gloucestershire. Her father George was noted as a deceased licensed victualler. Doris’s cousin Nathaniel Onions was a witness at her wedding.
